Catherine Silva, 86

Catherine Silva passed away peacefully on April 11, 2014, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Catherine was born January 8, 1928, in Long Beach, Calif., to Thomas and Kate McDonald. She lived in Buellton, Calif., and worked in a supervisory capacity in the communication department at what is now known as Vandenberg Air Force Base. Catherine was married to Frank L. Silva for 36 years, and lived in Coeur d’Alene for the past 15 years.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; parents, Thomas and Kate; brothers, Patrick and Thomas; and sister, Mary Ann. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert S. Silva and wife Deborah, of Coeur d’Alene; and grandsons, Garrett Silva, of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Taylor Silva, currently in the U. S. Army stationed in Germany.

Arrangements are pending for her service and burial in Lompoc, Calif. Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
