CRITTERS: County, get act together
ANIMALS AT FAIRGROUND STILL IN LIMBO April 4. This story is beyond heartbreaking for all involved and ALSO INVOLVES A YOUNG CHILD! How does one understand at this point of three months whether the office of the County Prosecutor is now also guilty of neglect by allowing the nonsense of the delay?
And, failing to OBTAIN needed witness information suggesting that the animals may even need to be held over for trial if the decision to prosecute is made? Did those involved in seizure of these animals not have cameras or video available to record the conditions the animals were found to be in? Would not photos then and even now be evidence enough?
The longer this is delayed the more distress these animals will suffer and less able to cope with humans touch. They are precious critters that make awesome pets — when they have not been distressed themselves.
For the sake of all (that includes people like me who drive by the fairgrounds often and wonder), get this resolved now for this precious child and these animals that have “spirit” and long for care. Do your job and do the right thing, please. And, yes I called to offer help in caring for small animals, but, sadly never was called.
We have a beautiful new entry to the fairgrounds. Now let’s also rid the fairgrounds of an ugly sad story and fill waiting homes with potential pets needing a loving safe forever home!
