Giles D. Clark, 98

| April 7, 2014 6:03 AM

Giles Clark passed away on March 26, 2014.  He was born in Kinderhook, New York in 1915. He married Maria Meurs in 1940 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 – 1945. After his military service, his work in sales took him to Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, and California.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria, in 2001 and an infant son David in 1960. He is survived by three daughters Judy Wentworth (Russ), Barbara Kreisler (Jerry) and Nancy Murren (Ken).  “Papa” Giles is also survived by his grandchildren Julie Kreisler, Jennifer Kreisler Candela, Alisa Murren Lewis, and Alex Murren as well as his great grandchildren Angela, Gaetano, Sophia, and Wyatt.

Giles lived in the Coeur d’Alene area for about 20 years. He was an avid bridge player and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Giles’ wish was for no memorial service and that his and Maria’s remains be taken to Albany, New York for final resting.

The family wants to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to the incredible staff at The Renaissance Assisted Living in Coeur d’Alene for the outstanding care provided to Giles and support to his daughter, Nancy, during his last days.  Thank you also to Hospice of North Idaho and their amazing staff.
