KNIVES: Thanks for all the help
Purple Heart recipients of our previous wars were presented with a total of 18 Buck commemorative knives on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Post Falls American Legion Post 143. Two of these were Posthumous awards, presented to family.
In addition to the special knife, a thank you card for the veterans honorable military service to nine country, and list of donors, is included.
New addition to the presentation, to families of veterans killed in combat is a Veterans Honor rose. The Veterans Honor rose was bred by Jackson & Perkins at the request of the Secretary of Veterans Administration, some years ago. We planted two of the rosebushes in our yard, delivered two more to the Idaho State Veterans Home in Lewiston.
My friend Chuck Buck presented each special knife, shook the hand of the recipient, thanked each veteran for their service to our country.
Special thank you to Chuck Buck, and all the Buck Knives, Inc. family, and employees for their continuous support of this program since the beginning in 2005. Thank You Post Falls Mayor Clay Larkin, who originated the idea, The Coeur d’Alene Press, The Post Falls Press, to God, nothing good happens without him, my wife Betsy, and all our donors.
