SANDPOINT - Emma Weme, Sierra Scott and Nan Kiebert each found the back of the net, leading the Sandpoint Bulldogs to a 3-2 nonleague win against the Post Falls Trojans on Saturday at rainy and muddy War Memorial Field.

"It was an excellent response for us," Sandpoint coach Conor Baranski said. "I was impressed with our composure and how well we kept the ball with a slick surface."

Coeur d'Alene (2-7-1) credited the goal to Brendis; Lakeland (2-9) reported it as an own goal.

"It was a good result for us," Coeur d'Alene coach Andy Vredenberg said. "We had five starters either sick or injured, so I'm very proud of the girls off the bench who stepped up."

LEWISTON - Alissa Jolliff snuck behind the defense to score off a free kick by Natalie Wheelock in the seventh minute to lift the Timberwolves past the Bengals in a 5A Inland Empire League match at Walker Field.

"(Alissa) just got behind their defense and was able to put a shot away off her left foot," Lake City coach Matt Ruchti said. "We had a chance to put the game away, but Lewiston defended really well. It's difficult for us because we don't have to travel that much, but we got a result and that's the most important thing."

Tiegan Horton had five saves for Lake City (5-3-2, 2-1 5A IEL), which hosts Mead on Monday at 4 p.m.

"I wasn't pleased with the final result, but they're a good team and we competed well against them," Coeur d'Alene Charter coach David Baxter said. "Only a couple of those shots were quality shots and (Freeman goalkeeper) Cassidy (Crosswhite) had them covered and made some nifty saves."

COEUR d'ALENE - Forward Jack Barrett took control early in a 5A Inland Empire League game, scoring two goals for Lake City in the first half of a win over visiting Lewiston.

Barrett also had an assist in the Timberwolves' third goal, a nice cross to Alec Maldanado, who headed the ball into the goal in the 46th minute.

"Not too bad for playing only 27 minutes today," Timberwolves coach Chad Beadell said of Barrett's performance. "He scored a great first goal. The second one was Jack taking on guys and beating them. Jack lofted it, Jack decided to slide and cross it before his defender got it. Alec came out of nowhere, he slammed it with a diving header."

Garrett Flolo and Rikki McCaw each scored one goal in the second half for Lake City (6-1-2, 3-0-1 5A IEL).

"It's always important to win your league games, so you can try to set yourself with home-field advantage going into districts," Beadell said.

POST FALLS - Treavor Franck finished a pass from Joab Logan 39 seconds into the match, leading the visiting Bulldogs past the Trojans in nonleague play.

"It was a nice shot to the far post," Sandpoint coach Adam Tajan said. "Joab laid it back to him and he laced it from 18 yards out to the top corner."

All-state senior midfielder Timmy Mueller did not play, because he had a new recruit visit at Oregon State University in Corvallis.

"If we don't have Timmy, we don't have an attack," Trojans coach Gabe Lawson said. "It made it very difficult. (Getting shut out) is a rarity, for sure. They played well. It was a we match and they got the better of us in the first half, scored three goals and that was it."
