League of Women Voters of Kootenai County to hold open house

The League of Women Voters of Kootenai County will hold an Open House Oct. 15 at 4:30 p.m. at Coeur d'Alene Fire Department Station 3, 1500 N. 15th St.

The league is a nonpartisan organization that promotes informed and active participation of citizens in government. The League works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and to influence public policy through education and advocacy.

It is the purpose of the LWVKC to promote responsibility through informed and active participation in government and act on selected governmental issues.

The public is invited to attend the Open House where league members will be available to discuss their activities planned for the coming year. Medicaid expansion and voter registration are among the issues the group will tackle.
