Marvin Lawrence Amell, 53

Marvin Lawrence “Larry” Amell, passed away in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on September 24th 2013, at the age of 53. Larry was born on June 23, 1960 to Betty Jean & George McLain. He was raised in Coeur d'Alene, lovingly cared for by his Grandparents Marvin & Ethel Amell, and sisters Terrie Gessner, Linda Seitz, & Marlene Parnell. Larry was very loved. He received tremendous support & guidance from his Canadian Sisters: Tammy Potter, Shannon Olofson, & his honorable Step-Father, Nels Olofson. As a young man, Larry traveled on to Texas & Wyoming to work in the oil fields. Upon returning to Coeur d'Alene, he was employed by The Intrepid @ Silver Beach under the amazing culinary guidance of “Chef Bill”. Larry then assumed the role of head chef at Twin Lakes Village. Good Friend Rob Elder brought on Larry, aka “The Blade”, as head chef of Crickets Restaurant. Most recently, Larry moved on to become a successful food distributor, supplying specialty meats & seafood to many local establishments. Larry married Pamela Guarisco on August 11, 1985. Together they had a beautiful daughter, Nichole Lynn Amell. Larry is survived by many & will be missed by all. Survivors include his daughter Nichole & fiance Rusty Ernst. Granddaughters Alicia Kay & Annabelle Marie. Sister, Karen Gilbert. Brother in law & “Best Friend” (husband of Terrie), Alan Gessner. Nephew, Bear Killian. Stepson Mike Delaney & Step-daughter Mandy Averill. Stepsons Chase & Jory Sutton, & their Mother Carolyn. Last but not least, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great friends. Larry was preceded in death by his Grandparents & parents, as mentioned above. His 3 brothers Dale & Danny Lomeland, and Jerry Olofson. Larry's family would like to pay special mention to all the wonderful caregivers at the Hospice House & Dirne Clinic. In Lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a charitable donation to Hospice of North Idaho. A service honoring Larry will be held On September 30th, Lake City Church, 6000 Ramsey Road, at 11:00am.
