SPOKANE - Travis Hill scored on an assist from Devin Leon in the 53rd minute to lead the Community Colleges of Spokane Bigfoot past the North Idaho Cardinals 1-0 in a men's soccer match on a rainy Wednesday night under the lights at Spokane Falls Community College.

Spokane outshot NIC 6-1 in the first half and 7-4 for the match.

"We kind of weathered the storm early," NIC coach Ken Thompson said. "They're a pretty good team and knock it around pretty well. They've got a nice turf field, and it took us some time to get used to that."

Former Post Falls High standout Reece Jackson had a shot on goal for Spokane of the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges.

"In the end, we didn't create some opporunities," Thompson said. "And it cost us."

NIC (6-4-1) faces the Gonzaga club team on Saturday in Spokane at 2 p.m.

First half - none. Second half - 1, CCS, Travis Hill (Devin Leon), 53:18.

Shots on goal - NIC 4, CCS 7.
