RATHDRUM: Big thanks, volunteers

| September 25, 2013 9:00 PM

We had a wonderful “Working Together” day on Sept. 14 in the Rathdrum Community. On behalf of the city of Rathdrum, we would like to thank those who organized, donated time and money and or participated in the “Working Together” Day.

Volunteers framed the new bathroom/concession stand and planted 33 trees in Majestic Park. They painted the Historic Masonic Lodge, a fence, playground equipment at John Brown Elementary School and bleachers and fencing at the Junior High School. They landscaped in the cemetery and library, worked on the community garden, adding a book hutch that was custom built by a volunteer. At the final count there were more than 400 people of all ages that participated to help improve our community. We would like to thank Jeff and Julie Crandall and Robert and Juliene Dance representing the Hayden Lake Stake of the LDS Church as organizers, as well as thank all the participants from the LDS Church, the general community and our staff for the successful day.

We appreciate the food from Super 1 and Steins IGA and donations of trees from Northland Nursery and Grace Tree Service. It means a lot to our city.
