Lake City sweeps Post Falls
POST FALLS - C.C. Cates had 12 assists and six digs as the Lake City Timberwolves swept the Post Falls Trojans 25-19, 25-13, 25-17 in 5A Inland Empire League volleyball play Tuesday night at The Arena.
Natalie Taylor added nine kills, Kaity Widmyer nine assists and seven digs for Lake City (10-2, 2-1 5A IEL). Haile Watson had eight kills, Madi Farrell five for the T-Wolves.
"It was a real team effort tonight," Lake City assistant coach Laura Tolzmann said.
Brenna Meehan had 10 assists, seven kills and five aces and Shayna Allert 15 digs for Post Falls (2-9, 0-3).
"I felt like we served the ball well tonight and kept Lake City out of their system," Post Falls coach Willow Hanna said. "But we had too many errors on the hitting side and didn't play consistently. Lake City has some really big hitters and played well."
On Thursday, Lake City plays host to Lakeland, and Post Falls is home vs. Sandpoint and Moses Lake.

MOSCOW - Miranda Miller had 11 kills and Sydney Williams had nine kills and nine digs to lead the Vikings past the Bears 25-7, 25-14, 25-16 in a nonleague match at Bear Den.
Megan Ramseyer had 19 assists and five aces, Missy Huddleston 15 digs for Coeur d'Alene (11-4), which hosts Lewiston in a 5A Inland Empire League match on Thursday.
"We played a pretty clean match tonight," Coeur d'Alene coach Dee Pottenger said. "I felt like we did a good job of keeping out unforced errors to a minimum and were aggressive on defense and were able to stay in system on offense."

Reardan
RATHDRUM - Morgan Landers, Kelly Ramus and Haley Rotchford had five kills each as the Hawks downed Reardan (Wash.) in nonleague play, 25-21, 25-15, 25-11 at Hawk Court.
Haley Tierney had six digs and Jennifer Thomas put up 14 assists for Lakeland (3-9).
"We took care of the ball and our confidence has definitely gotten stronger," Lakeland assistant coach Alyana Watson said.
Reardan's Michelle Tinsley had eight kills and two aces. Jadyn Landreth posted 15 assists and Sierra Pack had 14 digs.
Lakeland plays at Lake City on Thursday.

Timberlake
ST. MARIES - Haylee Waddell had 17 kills, six digs and one block to lead the Lumberjacks past the Tigers 25-10, 25-15, 25-22 in a nonleague match.
"I think things are starting to come together," St. Maries coach Missy Asbury said. "Haylee had a great game as a senior for us tonight and had a solid game."
Jaycee McQueen had nine assists, Madi McQueen nine digs, Kendall Brusseau six kills and Kelsey Auer 20 assists for St. Maries (3-9), which travels to Grangeville on Saturday for a Central Idaho League tri-match with the Bulldogs and Orofino.
Shea Dretke had seven kills, three digs and two blocks for Timberlake (1-13). Matraca Rocheleau had seven assists and three digs, and Megan Limesand had four digs.
Timberlake hosts Priest River on Thursday.

HARRISON FLATS - Sydney Koenig had 10 kills and four blocks to lead the visiting Tigers past the Warriors 25-7, 25-7, 22-25, 25-16 in a North Star League match.
"We didn't show up in the first couple of games," Kootenai coach Jessica Hammond said. "In the third game, we started to play as a team."
Jenna Karpinski had seven kills, Grace MacInturff two kills, one ace and one block and Kayelee Carman three digs and two kills for Kootenai (0-6, 0-4 NSL), which travels to Lakeside on Thursday.
Charli Sadler had 10 assists and six aces for Mullan (5-0, 3-0), which travels to Clark Fork on Thursday.

Kootenai Thunder
COEUR d'ALENE - Rayla Andrews caught fire with her serve at the right time at Venture High, helping North Idaho Christian in its 22-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-14 win over the Kootenai Thunder of Sandpoint.
Andrews served 14 aces in the Mountain Christian League match, including six in a row in the third game, after the game was tied at 16.
The Royals (7-2, 4-2 MCL) got 10 kills from Sydney Lawson. Katelyn Stegman had 13 assists and Maura Lund finished with 10 digs.
North Idaho plays House of the Lord Academy of Oldtown Thursday at Venture.
