Spirit Lake councilman subject of sealed case

| September 24, 2013 9:00 PM

A sealed case regarding James Kevin Brown, a Spirit Lake city councilman, has been posted on the Idaho State Judiciary's Idaho Supreme Court Data Repository.

No details about the case are available; however, Brown says he has not been charged with anything and has not committed a crime. Brown says the accusations are a smear campaign and declined to discuss the case.

Kootenai County Prosecutor Barry McHugh also declined to comment because the case has been sealed. Brown's attorney, Jim Hannon, could not be reached for comment before deadline.

Brown is running for Spirit Lake City Council again this year. Elections are scheduled for Nov. 5.
