Firefighters to raise funds for MDA today

The Kootenai County Fire and Rescue union will be in Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene today for the "Fill the Boot" fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Firefighters will be at the intersection of Dalton and Hanley in Coeur d'Alene and in front of Cabela's in Post Falls from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. asking motorists to support MDA.

Liberty Expo is today at Best Western in Cd'A

COEUR d'ALENE - The Republican Liberty Caucus of Idaho is holding a Liberty Expo today at the Best Western Plus Coeur d'Alene Inn.

The Expo is a daylong event starting this morning at 8 and running throughout the day. It wraps up this evening with a banquet featuring two-time Emmy Award winning journalist Ben Swann as the keynote speaker. 10th Amendment Center Founder Michael Boldin will keynote a luncheon, as well. Several state legislators are expected to attend and serve as panelists, as well.

The Liberty Caucus received a charter from the State Republican Party last year. The Expo is geared toward motivating, encouraging and educating Republican precinct committeemen and elected officials.
