MAYOR: Remarks were inappropriate

I recently participated in the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society held at the Lakeland High School in Rathdrum. It was a wonderful event.

I’m writing this letter because I was offended by Mayor Vic Holmes as were many others in the crowd. As he introduced U.S. Senator Mike Crapo, he made a derogatory remark toward President Obama. It was disrespectful, inappropriate and unprofessional.

Personally I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to meet our president. I believe most Americans feel the same way.
