Watson leads Timberwolves to nonleague win against Saxons

SPOKANE - Haile Watson had 10 kills and four blocks to lead the Lake City Timberwolves past the Ferris Saxons 25-16, 25-15, 25-11 in a nonleague match on Wednesday at Ferris High.

Kaity Widmyer had 23 assists, Natalie Taylor nine kills and six digs, Madi Farrell seven kills and CC Cates nine assists for Lake City (9-2), which resumes 5A Inland Empire League play on Tuesday at Post Falls.

COEUR d'ALENE - Katie Baxter scored in the 75th minute, salvaging a tie for the Panthers in a nonleague match against the Pirates at the Community United Methodist Field.

"Brooklyn Cunningham had another solid game for us in the midfield," Coeur d'Alene Charter coach David Baxter said. "Rachel Callister, another freshman, played a solid game in goal for us. Natalie Goetz, another freshman, also had a strong performance on defense and in the midfield."

Cd'A Charter (7-1-2) got a first-half goal from Cunningham, while Callister made 10 saves.

Coeur d'Alene Charter hosts Kellogg on Sept. 26.
