GAS: Kudos for superior service

| September 18, 2013 11:03 PM

Regarding Sunday’s editorial about seniors seeking help pumping gas in winter weather: Now this is what a hometown newspaper is all about. YOU are serving your subscribers, when coming to their needs.

Mr. Tom Paschane, general manager of the Hayden Chevron service station has put “SERVICE” back where it belongs, “A SERVICE STATION.”

My Dad and I leased an Atlantic Richfield gas station (ARCO) in 1959, after I got out of the USAF in Oroville, CA. That was the good old days when you pulled into our station, we checked your oil, pumped the gas, and always washed your windshield and even serviced your vehicle. And greeted you with a smile. My, how things have changed — not for the better.

A big thank you goes out to Marion Walker of Hayden Lake, who got the ball in the air, and to The Press for catching it and sending it forward.

Job well done.

DAVID CLARK
