Charles Herman Streeter, 82

Charles passed away September 16, 2013 at Kootenai Medical Center after an eight year battle with cancer. Charlie was born January 19, 1931 in Porthill, ID to Paul and Elizabeth(Austin) Streeter. Raised primarily in Pine Creek, Idaho, he attended Masonia School and then various other schools in north Idaho. Charlie worked in the mines of the Silver Valley, in the logging industry, as a millwright and as a plumber. He owned Post Falls Plumbing for many years before becoming an Idaho State Plumbing inspector for his final 12 years before retiring. Charlie was proud of his service in the 3rd Infantry Division during the Korean War. He served three tours from 1950-1951, earning three purple hearts in the process. Charlie belonged to the Rathdrum Masonic Lodge 41 for more years than he could remember, attending 32 consecutive International Nights in Bonners Ferry. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Lodge, Calam Shrine, Eastern Star Clover Chapter #33, Post Falls VFW, 3rd Division Society, and IAPMO. He is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Karen(Storlie), parents Elizabeth and Irvin Streeter, Paul and Mildred Streeter, and his sister Gloria Jeen. He is survived by his son, Butch and Andrea Streeter, daughter Charlayne Streeter and sister, Irvalee Allen and Dan Shultz. Charlie was a good guy with a good sense of humor. He enjoyed coffee with the guys, softball games with the girls, and time with his wife and kids. A memorial service will be held Friday September 20th at 11:00a.m. the Post Falls English Funeral Home 1700 N Spokane St. with refreshments to follow.
