Prep cross country Levora wins at Cd'A invite

HAYDEN - Sandpoint's Sam Levora won the boys large school race in a time of 16 minutes, 18.4 seconds, 30 seconds faster than the next finisher at the Super 1 Coeur d'Alene Invitational on Saturday at Hayden Canyon.

Jose Winton, David Conway and Andrew Magee finished third through fifth for Coeur d'Alene, which edged the Bulldogs by two points for the team title.

The Coeur d'Alene girls had four of the top six to claim the large school team championship. Katerine Ruck of Moscow won the girls race in 19:27.7.

In the small school race, Coeur d'Alene Charter's Leif Fredericks was nearly a minute faster than the field, winning in 16:47.6 for the Panther boys, which won the boys team title.

Mikayla Shuler of Riverside won the girls race, helping the Rams take the girls small school team title.

Little edges Finney

for sixth at Shadle

SPOKANE - Lake City junior Kyler Little was sixth in 12:59.30 and teammate Jake Finney was seventh in 12:59.30 in Saturday's Highlander Invitational, hosted by Shadle Park High.

Post Falls junior Brianna Barnhill finished 11th in 17:50.45 in the girls combined race.

Claudia Hewston of Polson won the race in 16:28.38.

In the girls varsity race, Anna Shaw was the top local finisher for Lake City, taking 70th in 18:22.14 in the 114-participant race.

Lake City's Nolan Mullen-Huber was sixth in 14:17.18 and Alex Ayers of Lake City finished 14th in the freshman boys race in 15:00.15.

Zack Holbrook was 12th in the sophomore race for Lake City in 14:16.62.
