Flag ceremony at Hospice House on Thursday

COEUR d'ALENE - Hospice of North Idaho will hold a flagpole dedication and flag ceremony on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the facility at 2290 W. Prairie Ave. in Coeur d'Alene.

For the past several months, 15-year-old Ernest Mendez has been fundraising and organizing efforts to raise a flag pole at the nonprofit for his Boy Scout Eagle project.

The event is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Clark House remains open

HAYDEN LAKE - Clark House, overlooking the shores of Hayden Lake, remains open full-time, following the end of the summer piano bar.

An historic area landmark, Clark House continues to offer room accommodations, corporate meetings, private parties and special events. From Tuesday through Saturday, fine dining is available with a reservation.

Gravelle named queen of Red Hat Flappers

POST FALLS - Post Falls' Glenda Gravelle was named queen of the Red Hat Flappers on Monday.

The group of senior women holds fundraisers for various local causes throughout the year. As queen, Gravelle will be the leader of the group.
