Hazel M. Sleight, 92

Hazel M. Sleight, 92, of Dalton Gardens passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her on Sept. 8, 2013 (one day shy of her 93rd birthday). Hazel was born on Sept. 9, 1920 in Taylorsville to Rhoda and Orson Robinson. She married the love of her life, Ivan, on Dec. 16, 1944 while he was on leave from the Marine Corps. She loved being a wife and mother while supporting Ivan in all of his business endeavors. This included opening the first self-service gas station in North Idaho (HICO-Hazel Ivan Company).

She is survived by her husband Ivan; daughter, Jackie and son-in-law Elden. She was preceded in death by sons, Ivan Sleight Jr. and Mardy Sleight. She was well loved with grandchildren: Lisa and Steve Gay, Tracie and Frank Smidt, Jamie and Michael Woods, and great-grandchildren Ashlee, Zachary, Cassidee, Caden, Colton, Ella and Eric. Special thanks to the loving employees of Creekside Inn and Hospice.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’ Alene Chapel, 744 N. 4th St., Coeur d’ Alene, ID.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Mathews Funeral Home, 702 Clay St., Montpelier, ID with a graveside to follow at Paris Cemetery, Paris Idaho.
