Edna Arsceil Johnson departed this life Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, in Coeur d'Alene at the Hospice House of North Idaho.

She leaves a loving companion of 21 years, Chuck Louden; four children, Niki Froines (Chris) of Missoula, Terry Johnson of Pollock Pines, Calif., Suzy Sexton (Bob) of Ninilchik, Alaska, and Tom Johnson (Christi) of Elk, Wash.; and 10 grandchildren. She also leaves behind a brother, Robert Gage (Susie); sister, Viola Grimes; and sister-in-law, Judy Gage.

Edna was born on May 11, 1935 in Coeur d'Alene to Edward and Arsceil Gage. Her father worked for General Telephone and her mother was a seamstress. Edna was raised in Coeur d'Alene and attended Coeur d'Alene High School.

Edna married Thomas Johnson on June 21, 1952. They lived in Pullman, Wash., for several years before moving their family to Libby, Mont., in 1966, where Tom worked for General Telephone and Edna worked for J.C. Penney's. Tom and Edna were active members of the Eagles Club in Libby.

Edna was preceded in death by Thomas Johnson, her parents Edward and Arsceil Gage, and her brother Howard Gage.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Evergreen Cemetery, 2834 N. Spokane St., Post Falls. A reception will follow at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls.
