POST FALLS - Jim Hail wants to take his community service to another level.

Hail, the accounts receivable manager at Hagadone Directories, will seek Post Falls City Council seat No. 2 during the Nov. 5 election.

The seat is currently held by Ron Jacobson, who is running for mayor.

Hail, 32, has served on Post Falls' Parks and Recreation Commission since January 2008 and has been the board's chairman for the past three years.

Hail is also the president of the Prominade Homeowners Association for the condominium complex in Post Falls. He is a former big brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Idaho and is a former member of the TESH Resource Development Committee and Coeur d'Alene Civil Service Commission.

A University of Idaho graduate with a bachelor's degree in political science, Hail is the son of Jim Hail, the co-owner of Hagadone Directories.

Hail said he would like to see Post Falls broaden its tax base and bring in more commercial and industrial businesses to complement the residential side. He also believes the city can do more to attract tourism, especially since Post Falls is located between Coeur d'Alene and Spokane.

Hail, a lifelong area resident, said he believes he would bring a fresh perspective to Post Falls city government. He said his business background and open mind would be an asset to the city.
