HYDROS: Tips for next year

I hope the Diamond Cup Races return next year but I have a few suggestions to the organizers. First, if they publish rules for log boom pass holders to follow they should ENFORCE them. I paid $450 to be there. Next to me eight boats rafted together with the last one B L A S T I N G their “home music” at a volume I’m sure was heard in Sandpoint. We could not hear the hydro boats, the race announcer on our radio or each other’s conversation. There were many very upset pass holders around us. Not one “patrol boat” crew checked for passes or wrist bands on the rafted boats but checked us over a dozen times.

We won’t pay to be on the log boom next year ... we’ll raft onto someone else’s boat. Organizers could make twice the $$ if they check for passes and wrist bands for EVERY person on EVERY rafted boat next year. The “rules” we got with our passes were a joke!
