Cd'A Artists Studio Tour is Saturday

| September 6, 2013 9:00 PM

Ever wonder what it's really like behind the scenes in the art world?

It's time for the second Cd'A Artists Studio Tour. This Saturday you'll have a chance to visit seven of Coeur d'Alene's most interesting studios. From oil paintings to metal sculpture and ceramics to glass, the works of 17 local artists will be on display - and for sale - in the artists' own studios.

There will be a pre-tour launch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Coeur d'Alene Chamber Visitors Center.

"People can start the tour wherever and whenever they want, but ideally they'll start here at the chamber, where there'll be a display of each artist's work," said Cheryl Zainfeld, manager of the Arts and Culture Alliance, which is presenting the event. "I'll be available to answer questions and hand out brochures and maps. It's a do-it-yourself tour and visitors can pick and choose which studios they want to see."

There's no charge for the event.

"We were very encouraged by the interest shown last year," Zainfeld said. "About 200 people participated and we received extremely positive feedback on it."

Information and maps can be also be found on the Alliance Website at www.artsincda.org and each studio will have information to hand out as well. Zainfeld can be reached at: 292-1629
