JACOBSON: Very personal support
I cannot express highly enough what an ideal candidate Ron Jacobson is for Post Falls mayor. Aside from 15 years on City Council, he has volunteered countless hours for city improvement. He has sat on and chaired multiple committees, including the Education Foundation, Rotary and Parks & Recreation. He rings the bell for the Salvation Army at Christmas, and helps out families in need around the holidays.
In my opinion, the best person for the job is one who serves the public in all capacities, and that is Ron. Aside from local service, he’s volunteered hundreds of hours on overseas medical missions in developing nations. Although not a physician, his motto is “I can do whatever they need me to, help as much as possible, and work as many hours as there are in the day.” This attitude carries over into how he views his duties with the city of Post Falls. His business expertise and volunteerism have led him to the next best way he could use his skill set, as mayor. How do I know this? Because he is my dad.
Ron raised children with patience, energy and humor. As adults, each of us has differing opinions. We are quick to offer these with one another, but my father sits and listens. He maintains this is the best method, to listen to others, trying to understand where they are coming from rather than pushing his own ideas. In a mayor, the community needs someone to encourage idea sharing, without thrusting their own into the immediate spotlight. He is not seeking glory, but rather to lead fairly and with the communities best interest at heart. With Ron, what you see is what you get: a greatly humble man, with a vast knowledge of community, dedication, business, and most importantly, kindness.
