BIKING: Etiquette lacking in Cd'A

| October 30, 2013 9:00 PM

Bicycle riding is my fair weather exercise fun. I just moved here from Bend, Ore., and previously from Portland, Ore. Both cities are noted for their bicycle etiquette. When we approach someone walking or riding up ahead, we say “on your left.” It is a courtesy. Coeur d’Alene is also a bicycle Mecca, but needs a lesson in bicycle etiquette. Most cyclists I have encountered in Coeur d’Alene seem rude and self-absorbed to the detriment of other path users. I love this city and its trail system and hope more people remember to be kind.
