SOUZA: Question her accuracy

On Oct. 27 I received a mailer titled “HELP ME HELP YOU” from Mary Souza. This supposedly upstanding candidate for transparency made two statements which caused me to wonder where she gets her facts.

She stated: “Property Taxes up 37 percent since 2006...” I checked my tax statements and found my property taxes were $970 in 2006 and $880 in 2012. Either Mary is severely mathematically challenged or she’s a liar.

Her second statement: “No Street Improvements — 2 years overlay budget poured into McEuen...” caused me to take a second look at the good job the city did repaving Dalton Avenue near my neighborhood this summer. Does Mary really know what she is talking about?
