Fall back and be dazzled
Maybe we can put our political differences in the deep freeze for awhile. Maybe we can look beyond today's anxiety and contentiousness, past the fear of what might happen tomorrow or a little further down the road. We might like what we see.
No matter your faith, political flavoring or anything else that separates you from others, one thing which binds all of us in North Idaho is the region's stunning beauty. If we aren't careful, this sensational autumn is going to slip past without the recognition it deserves.
Because it has been one of the driest Octobers on record, punctuated by sunny days and cool, crisp nights, beauty has erupted all around us. Drive if you must, but find a way to get out and turn off the distractions - your smartphone, your radio, the unnatural noise in your life - and behold the blessings bestowed by Mother Nature.
Have you seen richer reds and purer golds? The transformation that is slowly and spectacularly unfolding down many streets, parks and stomping grounds is simply breathtaking.
Please, don't miss it. If we can't generate a stronger sense of community by embracing the majesty of this amazing October, at least we can individually accept the free mental health renewal sessions awaiting almost everywhere. All it takes is a little time to see, hear and appreciate.
