Kathryn “Katie” VanSkyock, 91

Kathryn “Katie” VanSkyock, 91 years old, was born in Lavelle, Penn., on Feb. 28, 1922, and passed away on Oct. 8, 2013 in Corona, Calif. Katie and her late husband, Virgil VanSkyock, married 66 years, resided in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, from 1988 to 1996. Virgil predeceased in 2007. Katie loved feeding family and friends, enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and a good book. She was active in her community and took special pride in feeding the hungry.

Katie is survived by her four children: Virgil Jr. and wife Val, Bob and wife Karen, Carol and husband Dennis, Roger and Janet; grandchildren: Wendy, Kevin and wife Susan, Brian and wife Stephanie, Joe and wife Erin, Kristy, Ken and wife Felicia, Matthew, Chris and husband Ryder, Kelly, Michele, Tatia and husband Scott, and Trisha. She is survived by 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Evans-Brown Mortuary in Lake Elsinore, Calif., followed by burial in Riverside National Cemetery, Calif., at 2 p.m.
