McEUEN: That was then

It was with great interest that I read the article “What You Might Not Know About McEuen” in the Sunday, Oct. 13 edition of the Coeur d’Alene Press. The history of McEuen was to say the least very interesting.

Also interesting was the process and I quote, “On July 31 the citizens voted an impressive rejection of the Plaza…”

Let’s see, what is different today?

Oh yeah, the citizens did NOT get to vote on this McEuen project! Can someone explain to me why we were NOT allowed to vote on this McEuen project?

Again, let’s see, are the citizens more uninformed about what they want the McEuen Park to be like? Or maybe they don’t care about it? Or maybe, just maybe the mayor and the City Council are smarter than ALL of us citizens and KNOW what is best for us and what we SHOULD want!
