ORIN LEE HAMMEREN, 51
Orinlee “Elkie” Hammeren was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on October 15, 2013. Orin was born July 7, 1951 to John E. and Minnie Hammeren in Newport, Washington. He was raised in Priest River, ID and moved to Othello, WA in 1975, where he met and married Patricia DenAdel June 11, 1983. They lived in Othello with their two children; Greg and Stacie. In 1994 they moved to the Silver Valley. Orin was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Rose Lake where he had many brothers and sisters in Christ.
Those who knew Orin knew of his unique, knee slapping sense of humor, jokes and contagious laughter. Sometimes laughing so hard himself; he could not get to the punch line. You’ve never heard someone laugh so hard at an M & M commercial! He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, getting wood or just spending time there. He will be remembered for his warm, compassionate heart and grizzly bear hugs that showed just how much he loved. He was a great Christian man of never wavering faith.
He is survived by his wife, Patti at their home in Prichard. Daughter-in-heart Vaughn , granddaughter Porsche and great-grandson Jaxson, of Othello, WA. Brothers, Duane of Smelterville and Clifford of Seelyville, IN and sister, Marie Stein of Post Falls. Numerous nieces and nephews and COUNTLESS family of the heart.
Orin was preceded in death by stepchildren Stacie and Gregory DenAdel; parents, John and Minnie; infant brothers, Oscar and Paul; brothers, Gordon and Ed, and sister, Joan.
Services will be held on Monday October 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church on Hwy 3 in Rose Lake (exit 34 off I-90 south on Hwy 3).
