EVANS: She has your back
One important item on a resume reflecting community dedication is Amy Evans’ four-year experience as Membership Services Manager at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Coeur d’Alene.
When the Kroc opened in May 2009, she oversaw a membership drive that netted not the 1,200 members forecast for our community, but 12,000 members in the first month. This overwhelming response required strong leadership skills in monitoring, hiring, and training additional staff, developing and implementing policies, making solid decisions and listening carefully while maintaining a safe, welcoming, clean environment. Amy handled every challenge capably, taking ownership of problems, paying keen attention to detail, and building successful business policies that Kroc Centers nationwide have emulated. Six months later, membership soared to 20,000 members, a small city to administer, which she graciously did.
The Kroc Front Desk staff, under Amy’s direction, felt validated and trusted. She solicited input, took feedback seriously, and relayed results up and down the chain of command. She explained management and key revenue decisions clearly and appropriately, empowering us to take active roles as team members. She reinforced expectations in a positive manner, and encouraged creativity and personal growth in employees. She was approachable and compassionate, sweating the small stuff, so we knew we could count on her to help. Personal hand written notes greeted us after difficult experiences, rewarding us for a job well done. She often publicly praised us and we always knew “she had our back.”
The 350 Kroc employees felt appreciated, valued and motivated by Amy’s kind concern and genuine leadership skills. If you want a strong, honest, hard worker who gives 110 percent every day, contributes thoughtfully, and finds win/win solutions, vote for Amy Evans for City Council. She will protect our bright future diligently.
