EVANS: Ideal public servant

I am writing this letter to voice my support for Amy Evans, candidate for the Coeur d’Alene City Council. While I do not live in the city, I feel that surrounding cities are affected by decisions that are made in our sister cities. I have an extensive background in city government, having served for 12 years on the Hayden City Council. I know the challenges that council members face in making decisions about land use, budgets, and personnel.

I have known Amy for nearly five years. I was privileged to work with her at the Kroc Center. I personally witnessed her commitment to serving the public in a fair and respectful manner. Amy is not quick to make judgment, but works to educate herself on all perspectives and weigh matters before making a final decision. She is calm under pressure, listens to others, and is determined and hard working.

When current Coeur d’Alene council members chose not to run for office, my first thought of the perfect candidate was Amy. I contacted her and encouraged her to run. I feel that Amy is the strongest candidate in the race and will serve the city with honesty and integrity.

I encourage each of you to vote for Amy, and would love the opportunity to answer any questions you may have as to why I support her.
