PF: Elect Thoreson, Rubin, Fleishman

| October 16, 2013 9:00 PM

We have two very well qualified persons running for mayor of Post Falls, Kerri Thoreson and Ron Jacobson. Both have a wealth of relevant experience. There are however fundamental differences which point to Thoreson as the superior candidate. First of all, she voted not to increase taxes while Jacobson has always voted for increasing our taxes. We need someone who will find ways to hold the line on taxes especially in our high tax city of Post Falls. Also, Thoreson will be a full-time mayor just as Clay Larkin was while Ron Jacobson will be a full-time vice president of Inland Northwest Bank and only a part-time mayor.

We are also fortunate to have an experienced candidate for Seat 2 on the City Council in Barry Rubin who has always been outspoken for fiscal responsibility and holding the line on taxes. He also has a lot of fresh ideas to grow the city industrial and commercial base and do it in a cost effective manner. The other candidates Joe Bodman, Jim Hail and Alan Wolfe will be more of the same without any forward progress and more tax increases.

Finally, for seat 4 we need to defeat Betty Henderson who claims to be a fiscal conservative but by her vote is a tax and spend council person who voted to increase taxes. Christi Fleishman is a much better choice as a person with business experience and many good ideas to add to our city government.
