TAXES: Help for all ages

More than 5,500 low to moderate income tax filers of all ages in Kootenai and Shoshone counties were helped in completing and e-filing their federal and state tax returns, at no cost, in 2012. This season there is a need for more computer-literate volunteers to keep up with the expected demand.

The program, which does not cover tax issues such as rentals, timber sales, businesses with inventory and other complicated information, will begin this month.
