DRIVERS: They can drive a guy crazy

| October 4, 2013 9:00 PM

Ever since I got behind the wheel of my first car it has “driven” me insane about the way people drive in this town. There are a lot of roads to address, but the ones I’d like to address are Ramsey at Kathleen and Hanley.

I could count on both hands and feet the number of people who run red lights at those intersections and it is a real danger, especially since both intersections have schools near them. For those who do that, you need to take the driving test again because you don’t know the rules of the road.

Another spot is on Hanley between Ramsey and Atlas. The speed limit there is 35 mph, people, not 25 mph. They have signs at the entrances at both ends prior to and after the traffic circles. If you look you will see them, honest!

Another dangerous spot is on Kathleen heading east across 95. The road narrows there to let you into Sunset Motors and the truck accessory place. It’s not an opportunity to wedge yourself into the line just so you can take an immediate right turn into Home Depot.

Wait your turn in line, people. Watch for signs, know your speed limits, respect your fellow drivers and stop the “Me me me” attitude. Help your fellow neighbor by driving safely not only for you, but for the kids they have in their cars, their parents and their pets.
