POLICE: Chief should be local

| October 2, 2013 9:00 PM

The Gospel according to the meandering diatribe of Tony Stewart. Seems the so-called expertise Mr. Stewart seems to flaunt could be better served in L.A., Detroit, and especially Chicago instead of continuing to spew his venom on this quiet, peaceful town. I would be willing to chip in for his move to one of those more challenging places to see what he’s really made of.

On another note, many law enforcement agencies forbid officers from being involved in politics unless it involves a sheriff or police chief running for elected office. Yet there is one female officer here that seems to be heavily involved in politics. Doesn’t seem right to me that she has sworn to serve all the people and yet initiate a political stance against so many.

Also, BIG, BIG MISTAKE for the council to do a nationwide search for a police chief when we have the talent in our own department or at least from the state as Chief Longo has proved.

Keep Idaho in Idaho.
