TARZAN: Cheers to super production

| November 22, 2013 8:52 PM

I recently attended “TARZAN” at the Kroc Center, produced by CYT-North Idaho (Christian Youth Theatre). This production was absolutely amazing. This was the 4th CYT production I have attended, and they just keep getting better and better! I wonder how many folks in the Coeur d’Alene area realize the quality of these productions.

The set was phenomenal, beautifully portraying a jungle setting, even extending beyond the walls of the stage. The youth actors, running around on all fours like apes, even while singing and dancing, were amazing. The quality of this entire production was top drawer! The lead singers were as good as most professionals in the area. I cannot begin to imagine the work involved in the stage, lighting, costumes, and hours of rehearsals. All this while these kids are still full-time students. What a wonderful opportunity for them!

TARZAN, portrayed by JJ Schindler was truly amazing: long wild hair, body-building physique, suntanned appearance, with a beautiful voice and superior acting ability. The “people” in the show also showed fabulous singing/acting abilities. All this with a cast of young people in creative costuming who are extremely talented and dedicated to their craft.

I would hope that the Cd’A Press would more visibly support these productions, including pictures, to increase the public’s awareness of this fabulous resource and its gift to this community. How about more coverage and reviews from The Press.

My hat’s off to the director, music director and choreographer.
