Billie Jo Jackson, 67

Billie Jo Jackson departed this life at Kootenai Health on Nov. 7, 2013. Billie Jo was born on June 9, 1946, in Dickenson County, Va., to the late Eller and Joseph Newberry. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Charles Newberry, James Mann, Phillip Newberry and sister Henrietta Mann.

Billie Jo is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Brian C. Jackson and her son, Sammy S. Hicks. In 2007 Billie was diagnosed with lung cancer and fought lung disease with great strength. Both Brian and Sammy were faithfully by her side during this time.

Billie Jo loved to garden, watch westerns as well as court TV. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family that visited her often.

She is survived by her daughters, Glenda Hook of Post Falls, Patricia Poirier and Michelle Galbreath of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and eight grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Bell Tower Funeral Home in Post Falls, with Pastor Troy Carpenter officiating.
