VETERANS: Honor them every day
The best thing one can do to honor those who have served their country is to first simply put yourself in their boots. You may not agree to the many wars and actions that these soldiers are obligated to partake in; this is an issue that you can contact your representative about. Please remember not to take it out on the soldier serving his country and therefore serving you.
If you’ve had to do a job that you do not like, just think about the soldier in that same situation. He may be asked to potentially give his life to a cause that he objects to. Yes he can raise moral objections, but ultimately he is subject to the uniform code of military justice, which in my opinion is far less forgiving than civilian justice. Also, he or she is part of a team (right or wrong) that depends on everyone doing their part in support of that soldier next to him or her.
Please do your part and be strong in your convictions to hold and keep the freedoms so hard fought for by those who sacrificed everything. Do you have a cause worth sacrificing everything, and are you asked to do so in everyday life? God Bless Our Veterans.

One final thought: If Veterans Day is meant to honor veterans, employers, why not give your veterans this day off each year out of respect for their service? I think many employers would find that their organizations might be somewhat crippled doing so but would also realize the commitment and integrity that this group usually contributes.
