The aging process
What if we could slow the aging process - or at least allow better hearing to keep your brain active and stimulated?
There is a correlation between hearing loss and cognitive decline. Keeping your brain healthy with stimulation from the sound received through your ears can ward off the factors that contribute to cognitive decline and intellectual aging.
A good percentage of our aging population will have severe to profound high frequency hearing loss, which will affect speech understanding. These patients will miss consonants in words, which means a critical part of a specific word is being missed and therefore, not completely understood. This leaves the individual confused and embarrassed and feeling like they are not cognitively capable of understanding basic conversation, which can lead to their isolating themselves to avoid further embarrassment.
It is our job as their loved ones to help. We need to find a qualified licensed hearing Instrument specialist to help evaluate their hearing loss and also their hearing needs. Happy Hearing!
