THANKS: To city of kindness

| November 10, 2013 8:00 PM

I am writing this in hopes you can publish it. This is the only way I know of to thank the wonderful people of your community.

On October 20th, my ex-husband E. Lee Phillips, suffered a major stroke. Our three sons, Shaun, Kent, and Daniel were called by the hospital and immediately made arrangements to come to Coeur d’Alene. Lee succumbed to the stroke on Oct. 22.

The people of your community showed such kindness to my sons that they were just overwhelmed. From the kindness shown at the Walden House, to the folks at Davis Donuts, everyone they came in contact with was wonderful.

During this very difficult time they were repeatedly shown compassion from strangers. As my son said, “We were blessed everywhere we went by the helpfulness and kindness of the people here!”

As a mother, I would just like to offer my heartfelt thanks to everyone. Not being able to be there with them to support them was very difficult. Finding out the wonderful people of Coeur d’Alene were showing them support made it a lot easier. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
