Don J. Phillips, 86

Don Jene Phillips March 7, 1927-November 6, 2013

Born- March 7th, 1927 in Ephrata, Washington to George Edward and Olive Maude Phillips. Passed November 6, 2013 at the Spokane Veterans Home.

Joined the US Navy at Farragut Naval Training Center in 1944. He went on to serve in the US Army as well as the US Air Force.

While Don was stationed overseas, he met Theresa Elizabeth Daison-Barber, whom he brought to the United States. They were married in October of 1959 and had two children, George Phillips of Dalton Gardens and Donna (Phillips) Rambo of Spokane Valley, Washington.

Don worked in many fields during his military and civilian life and retired as the Chief of Security at North Idaho College in June of 1992. He enjoyed his gardening and especially his dogs. He is survived by his son George (Sandy Phillips) and daughter, Donna (Jay Rambo): four grand children David and Jeffery Phillips and Jennifer and Julia Rambo and two sisters, Midge Smolinski of Carmichael, CA and Hazel Andreas of Denver, CO.

Interment will be at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake in June, 2014.
