ABORTION: Letter hard to swallow

| November 3, 2013 8:00 PM

John Gillmore’s letter detailing his fathering of seven children and his complicity in the murder of all seven of these unborn human beings was enough to make one gag. He went on to assert that the choice to have an abortion is “ … FREEDOM here in America.” His beliefs and behaviors are wrong on so many levels that it is not possible in a letter to the editor to spell them all out.

You simply cannot pick a point in a pregnancy when life begins. It can only be at conception. The deliberate ending of the unborn child’s life is murder. These are cold words and any person who applied any logic to the subject would see the truth.

The argument comes down to this: Is the baby in a woman’s womb a human life? It must be or you wouldn’t kill it in order to avoid the inconvenience of having it.

I know two women who put their infant daughters up for adoption after the irresponsible biological fathers acted as a child does and did not take any responsibility. Thirty years later, I have met these daughters who were adopted into great families and went on to successful productive lives with their own families. They and their natural mothers found one another and what happened was that the adopted girls have now found they have larger families and much more joy in their lives. Their mothers who adopted them out have an incredible amount of joy in their lives as well, and have not had to bear a lifetime of regret.

A society that will ignore the killing of the unborn is capable of killing the elderly, sick and economically useless. If you think that is so much hyperbole, just examine the independent boards of experts who are answerable to no one in the Affordable Health Care Act. Just imagine an “expert” with the moral beliefs of a John Gillmore making the health care decisions for your aged and disabled relatives and friends.
