Marnelle Irene Harrison, 48

| November 1, 2013 9:00 PM

Marnelle Irene Harrison passed away at home on October 19th, 2013 after a 3 year bravely fought battle with cancer, and 2 days past her 48th birthday. We have lost a wonderful and loving mother, a caring and concerned daughter, a beloved sister, productive business woman, and best friend.

She was born October 17th, 1965 in Portland, Oregon. She grew up in Hillsboro, Oregon, and graduated with honors from Glencoe High School. She obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree from Oregon State University in Finance and International Business. While in high school and college she was an accomplished flutist in their band organizations. Her talent enabled her to travel to Europe one summer to perform in a band and choir group of over 250 members from all across the U.S. She also played alto saxophone and piano. She was an intelligent and hard working person. She obtained a Certified Financial Analyst credential and enjoyed a successful career in investment finance. She spent time working in the cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles, California, Portland, Oregon, and San Diego, California. She was involved in community events, was an active classroom volunteer, and was a member of the Dalton Gardens Church of Christ.

Marnelle loved to travel, take trips to the beach, go to Disneyland, and share her home with at least one cat. Her hobbies were scrap booking, snow skiing, and reading both to learn and for fun. She was totally devoted to her children whom meant the world to her. She loved to give gifts and cards. The Christmas season was her favorite time of the year.

She is survived by her three children: Sarah, Matthew and Clark Marchese, her parents Ken and Joanne Morrow of Portland, Oregon, sister Kellene Haye, and half siblings Steve Harrison and Janelle Thomas, all also from Portland.

Marnelle and her family would appreciate memorials to be sent to the Hospice of North Idaho.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Marnelle’s online memorial and sign her guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
