SCOUTS: No place for homosexuality

| May 31, 2013 9:00 PM

Where does homosexuality fit into the Boy Scout Oath?

Boy Scout Oath or Promise states:

On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times, to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.

Doing one’s duty to God is obeying God’s Word. To be morally straight is not being involved in illicit heterosexual or homosexual behavior that offends God. These actions in the Old Testament and the New Testament are displeasing to God. Young people are very vulnerable and exposure to immoral people with immoral actions can ruin a person’s life.

God loves all people, but He hates immoral behavior. He gave us His Word to show us the best way to live life. We are all guilty of various misconducts and God gives us the way out. It is in His Word through Jesus Christ.
