SCOUTS: Exodus a strong possibility
Well, the promoters of gay rights won again with the new Boy Scout ordinance accepting openly gay boys as Scouts. How unfair to all the dedicated boys and adults who have devoted time, energy and money over the years to the Boy Scouts and adamantly disagree with the gay agenda!
This should be an eye-opener to many as to just how much financial and political power these groups that promote gay rights have. Of course, for us in North Idaho it should come as no surprise after being bombarded relentlessly in the last election by ads promoting gay marriage from our neighbors to the west. Again, gay rights won. They have President Obama, many judges and the politically correct on their side.
It is not about civil rights. It is about changing cultural mores and eventually the moral standards of our civilization. Will there be a mass desertion from the ranks of the Boy Scouts? Ultimately, that will be determined by parents, their boys and sponsoring organizations.
I have two grandsons working on their Eagle Scout projects. After years of hard work, of course, they want to finish. Then, they will get out.
I’m sure the gay rights promoters of this resolution calculated the possible loss of membership and really didn’t care as long as it furthered their agenda. At least they are honest in stating their objectives, openly gay boys as members and acceptance of gay scout leaders.
Tim McCandless, CEO of the Inland Northwest Council stated, “Sodomy is not allowed in scouting and is not an issue in this discussion.” Am I missing something here? Maybe I need a sex-ed or biology class. I thought sodomy was part of the gay equation. Dumb me.
Kudos to Sheriff Wolfinger for the courage to question continuing to sponsor the Boy Scouts. It is just a very sad situation where a small, gay rights minority wields so much power that they can radically change policy for such a time-honored organization as the Boy Scouts of America.
