FINISHERS: They inspire the most

| May 31, 2013 9:00 PM

I am writing this letter in regard to the 2013 Coeur d’Alene Marathon. It’s always an awesome community event, and the course is even more spectacular. However, there is one small glitch.

My family and I were riding our bikes on the Centennial Trail around 2:15 on race day and a marathon participant was near the Bellerive Condos asking us for directions to the finish line. The race signage was all gone and the finish line was being dismantled. He didn’t know which direction to run.

Out of respect to all the runners/walkers, at least keep up the signs to help them complete their journey. I high-fived him and told him which way to go. Way to stick it out, buddy! I hope you got some more congrats at the end because you deserve them. Awesome job — especially to those who never give up!
