POLITICS: It's not a dirty word
Why does the Coeur d’Alene Press find politics so distasteful?
Why is nonpartisan preferred?
Politics is what founded our country and what runs our democracy and the greatest Republic, the greatest freedom, the greatest economy the world has ever known. Every political party in America has and preaches its values, prints its platform and ideas for all to see, and Americans are free to choose or free not to choose. You can join with like-minded folks or simply read and know the ideas and ideals of various groups and join none.
The real threat to our country is those who read nothing, are not interested, unconcerned or too busy.
I believe criticizing politics in America is un-American. Political parties bring ideas and knowledge to all, of the importance of governing ideals. They are to be praised not demonized by the free press who should be grateful for the freedoms they still have.
This is the country of freedom and our politics made it free, all parties. Nonpartisan could be a lack of ideals or a lack of commitment to those ideals. “Good government requires active citizens.”
