Robert Thomas Bierne, 80

Robert Thomas Bierne, devoted husband, father and grandfather passed on the morning of May 26, 2013, at 80 years old. He was born in Watertown, S.D., in 1933 to Lawrence and Jean Bierne. Graduated from Watertown High School in 1951 and then went on to South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, S.D., and graduated in 1955. He worked as a mining engineer for various oil companies before retiring in 1988.

Robert married Cathy in Paso Robles, Calif., in 1985. After retirement he moved to Rathdrum where he enjoyed boating, hunting, golf and travel.

Robert is survived by his wife and children, John Bierne (Theresa) of Hayden, Anna Bierne (Brice) of Scottsdale, Ariz., Julie Bierne of Guthrie Okla., and Darcy Purk (Ray) of Owensboro, Ky.; brothers, Larry Bierne (Jan) of Bellingham, Wash., and Bill Bierne (Ruth) of Aberdeen, S.D.; sisters, Marjie Miller of Pismo Beach, Calif.; and sister Kathleen Bierne of Aberdeen, S.D. Bob is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
