EVENTS: Center is already here

Eden Irgens, in her May 19 letter, wonders about rodeo and motocross events in Coeur d’Alene. She seems to think that a new arena in Riverstone is the way to attract such events.

I don’t believe she realizes that on June 28 and 29, July 12 and 13, Aug. 21 and 22 and Sept. 13 and 14, motocross and endurocross will happen right here. On Aug. 23, 24 and 25, PRCA Rodeo will come to town. And on Oct. 4 and 5, the Pro-West Rodeo Finals will be held. Sounds like a pretty full summer, doesn’t it?

But WHERE you ask? Look no further than the Main Arena at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds! In fact, tickets for the Pro-West Rodeo are on sale right now!

Check out the fairgrounds’ calendar of events. You’d be surprised to see what is offered right now right in our own town.

Looking for a family-oriented event? There’s the North Idaho Fair and Rodeo, Aug. 21-25. A great number of changes are in the works right now that will make this year’s event different from any you may have seen in the last 15 years.

Give the fairgrounds a try and see what it has to offer!
